The Curtinhas program features the most energetic and entertaining films of the Curtas Vila do Conde festival. Three competitions for three different age groups — M/3, M/6, M/9. In 2025, this program brings us multiple stories and emotions, telling us about adventures, friendship, nature, and much more.

The Octopus finds a vinyl record and winds up the gramophone, not allowing other sea creatures to sing or play along. As a result, the record breaks, but Eric the Crab and friends find instruments and play the melody live. Life underwater is actually not silent but full of sound and energy.
Three baby birds, one big challenge - their first flight! But as the frogs begin their peculiar performance, the sky turns into a whirlwind of improvisation - some birds twirl, some hover, and others just hope for the best.
“Homework” is a 3D animated short film that follows the imaginative adventures of a pencil and its friends, using their unique abilities to help each other in unexpected situations, inside of the school where all of them live.

Curtas Metragens - Cooperativa de Produção Cultural C.R.L. was founded in 1997 and is based in Vila do Conde.
It is active in various projects (Curtas Vila do Conde – International Film Festival, Agência – Portuguese Short Film Agency, Solar – Cinematic Art Gallery, Curtas – Educational Service). It began producing cinematographic works in 2002, namely with the coproduction of four short films, developed as part of the 10th edition of Curtas Vila do Conde.
Curtas' Educational Service presents itself as a set of actions aimed at school audiences that infers education through the moving image, encouraging new ways of seeing and training students and teachers.
