Atividades Didáticas

Program
Based in the Netherlands, visual artist and educator Priscila Fernandes co-directs the BEAR (Base for Experiment Art and Research) Fine Arts Department at ArtEZ, Arnhem. Her multidisciplinary work—including installations, painting, photography, and books—draws from ongoing research on education, play, and the dynamics between work and leisure, exploring themes of freedom and job insecurity.
From September 20th to November 8th, Solar – Cinematic Art Gallery will showcase Fernandes’s previously unseen installations in Porto (Batalha Centro de Cinema) and Vila do Conde (Solar). In collaboration with Batalha Centro de Cinema and Circular Festival de Artes Performativas, the program will also include a film screening and artist-led performative conversations.

From September 20 to November 8, Solar – Cinematic Art Gallery presents “Fanfare 2025,” the new work by Priscila Fernandes inspired by Bert Haanstra's Dutch classic “Fanfare” (1958). Between humor and melancholy, the film portrays a philharmonic band divided by absurd rivalries, reflecting on political polarization and ecological crisis. This project is supported by Mondriaan Fonds, Solar – Cinematic Art Gallery, Batalha Cinema Center, and Circular Performing Arts Festival.
