Aware of the future, Curtas Vila do Conde presented, for the first time in 2019, the competitive section My Generation, whose cinematographic works' selection is made by students from secondary schools in the municipalities of Vila do Conde and Póvoa de Varzim.

The main goal of this innovative section is to contribute to cinema education, stimulating the critical and artistic sense of the young audience, while promoting the integration of the local community in the festival.

Aimed at 14-19 year olds, the project also includes film screenings at participating schools, with the presence of some of the directors. 

In the next edition, My Generation will have the participation of 5 schools, among them ESMAD - Escola Superior de Media Artes e Design, and a selection committee composed by 10 students. 

As part of the 31st edition of Curtas Vila do Conde, My Generation will take place from July 8 to 16, 2023.
