The short film “Amen”, directed by Orphee Coutier, Bettina Demarty, Kimié Maingonnat, Laurène Perego, Louise Poulain, and Avril Zundel, has been awarded the Ativo Kids Prize in the Curtinhas 2025 competition, part of the 33rd Curtas Vila do Conde – International Film Festival.
Held on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at 2:00 PM in Room 2 of the Teatro Municipal de Vila do Conde, the Curtinhas awards ceremony took place within the festival’s Curtinhas program, the section dedicated to young audiences, and included a special screening of the winning films.
A jury of 12 young participants carefully watched and evaluated each film in competition, ultimately selecting “Amen” as the Best Film of the 2025 edition. The short films “Bobel’s Kitchen” (Belgium), “Homework” (Spain), and “The Drifting Guitar” (France/Switzerland) received honourable mentions.
In addition to the film screenings, Curtinhas also offered children and families a series of creative workshops and a themed closing party in the Garden of the Bobbin Lace Museum, celebrating the playful and educational spirit that defines this section of the festival.
