The My Generation competition has begun! The students from the schools involved have already started the selection process. The chosen short films will be shown in May at TURMA CURTAS and in July at the 31st Curtas Festival do Conde.
The My Generation competition has begun. The jury - made up of students from five schools, aged between 14 and 18 - has already started the selection process. The chosen short films can be seen in May at TURMA CURTAS, an exclusive programme for schools, and then in July during the 31st Curtas Festival do Conde, where the winners will be announced.
This programme was launched in 2019 with secondary schools in the municipalities of Vila do Conde and Póvoa de Varzim. The 2023 edition, in addition to the José Régio and Afonso Sanches (Vila do Conde), Eça de Queirós and Rocha Peixoto (Póvoa de Varzim) secondary schools, also has the participation of ESMAD - School of Media Arts and Design.
The students take part in every stage of the process, from selecting the films, promoting the action within the school, writing texts and synopses of the works and presenting the screenings with the guest directors.
